I love the design of that hexagram.

I learned the hard way that authentic trust is everything and that I need to meet people where they are rather than where I think they should be or where they could be. It's a huge gift when we feel someone appreciates us for who we are right now.

Gosh yes. What a profound insight. We can project, hope and wish people where what we want… but at the end, if we can see where they are, how they are. and meet that… life would move with more clarity. And yes. the gift of being truly seen as we are and how we are here and now… Is a gift.

This post expresses a very important concept quite clearly, and that is:- You may be the wisest person in the whole world, you may have wonderful thoughts and visions about how everything might work better, but it would be very unwise to presume that everyone else is totally unwise and visionless. Far better, to be modest and stand back a little and treat others with respect, then they will respect your ideas also - may even adapt to them in time. So, yes, “trust before influence.”

Megan, thank you for this. This is a wise and insightful look into the dynamic of what actually works between people

So well said Martin. It would be unwise to presume everyone else is totally unwise and vision less. Very good take away. I find this world focuses much on pushing ideas in - so to sit back and see how they work is helpful. I find many of us uncover our own assumptions as we sit back and observe patterns.

thank you for this reminder to lead with humility, to ask more questions, to listen more deeply, to notice what's lying underneath the noise, the chaos, the constant chatter...to lead from this place of peace. this place of kindness. this place of compassion, patience, understanding, forgiveness. ❤️

Yes! Your insight is so profound here. This is really about a different kind of leadership entirely. One that listens and can also bring more nuanced wisdom by empowering others.

Nice piece. And an overlooked but important part on every journey whether small or big, professional or of other nature. To listen and establish relationships first fosters trust

Daniel thanks so much for the comment and what part landed. The part about establishing trust feels so important in these times as we learn to work together for these big life challenges we face together

This is a great reminder - truly wisdom from a wanderer! I love how you outlined specific tools to guide us in approaching life from our higher self. It is what I too believe to be true but can forget when in challenging situations. So I welcome strong reminders, such as this. Pause, breathe, and in that quiet the guidance unfolds. Happy Mother’s Day Megan. Xo

Great article Megan! When I was a headteacher, I would listen first. Change cannot happen without trust and trust comes through establishing relationships. Loved this! 🥰

Thank you Trudi. I can see you embodying this so well.

Megan, I completely agree with your arguments; they're all true. The only thing I can't quite agree with is the idea that "we're entering a new era." It seems to me that all the contradictions in this world, and all the contradictions between people, continue to grow and deepen. There's no end in sight yet...

Hey there. Thanks for taking time with the post and being so kind to comment. I don’t see them as arguments so much. More just ideas to share and ponder. My perspective is that i see many people creating something new but it’s something different from within and therefore maybe invisible to the eyes. It’s okay if you don’t see it that way. I definitely hear you that you see the outside and now way out or no end in sight. And sometimes. I find that when I sit with the contradictions. I see more of the whole. Somehow that the truth is inside the paradox or contradictions. That two sides make a whole.

Yes, you may be right. But I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel yet, unfortunately...
